Update from Nepal- The Small World Covid relief in the field
Dear Friends & Family Namaste!
We would like to express our deepest thanks to all supporters for your generous support of the Nepal Covid Relief Fund at The Small World.
With the complete lockdown of four (4) weeks in Nepal, every hospital is over capacity; many Covid patients cannot be admitted due to a lack of beds and there are greater challenges concerning oxygen availability. Despite these many problems, from today we are able to support many vulnerable people and children, especially daily workers who have lost their jobs due to the long lockdown.
The Small World has formed a group of health aware volunteers, and we are delighted to report that most of them are our own students who graduated in nursing, health assistance, and social work due to The Small World's support. Today, our first day, we provided a packed “Dhal Bhat” lunch box filled with rice, lentils, curry, and salads to 480 people in Kathmandu. We felt very sad to witness that people are not just dying from Covid but are beginning to suffer from starvation. Thankfully, our relief work on the ground will continue to provide food, safe housing for children, and medical supplies.
Again, we thank everyone who has supported, shared, and prayed for Nepal because you are truly our friends and family. Your prayer and support really help inspire us to fight against this deadly Indian variant that is creating a Covid 2nd Wave. As a local charitable organization, we were here long before the news and cameras arrived, and we’ll be here long after the cameras leave.
Your partnership and support mean a great deal in helping to make our community more resilient to future disasters. We look forward to your continue support to fight against the Covid 2nd Wave in Nepal and in supporting so many marginalized people and vulnerable children. All your donation 100 % goes to relief support to saves the lives of devastating community & vulnerable children in most need.
Thank you for taking action to protect vulnerable mothers and children in Nepal.
