Hope Girl Graduates School leaving certificate

We are very excited to share this great achievement.

At Himalayan Hope Home- Shangita Rai passed School Leaving Certificate Exam in first division with 70 % mark. SLC (School Leaving Certificate) Exam is one of the biggest moment in the life of Nepali students. Every year only very few students pass this exam and this year also only 46 % pass in SLC exam. According to various news after publication of SLC result more than half dozen students committed suicide throughout Nepal. This exam is also called Iron Gate as most essential exam to enter collage for higher education to open door of opportunity in life.

Shangita Rai, who is born in one of most remote village in Solukhumbu district, her village have no health care facility so she lost her mother while giving birth to a baby brother, there is no telecommunication, no safe drinking water and schools are far away from home. After losing her mother her dad was also killed during Maoist war in Nepal but she used to go to school working in one of local teacher home and her school fees were supported by Kina Social Venture . When The Small World started Himalayan Hope Home for underprivileged children we welcomed Sangita at our home and today she brightly shines with pride for her achievement.

Yesterday at Himalayan Hope Home, hope sisters, TSW family & role model leader guess Mrs. Ang Chokpa Sherpa gathered together as a family to congratulate Sangita. We shared moment of happiness with powerful speeches, white scarf, Cake and their best food SAMOSA followed by music and dance program. The program was hosted by another 12 years old Hope Girl Pasang Sherpa and Shagita shared as this is one of her most successful part of life and thanks to all supporters helping to bring this happiness and achievement. Once again, many congratulation to Shangita Rai, graduating school to begin bright future and best wishes for a wonderful collage years ahead.
